A Reintroduction
A beloved nameplate from Chevrolet, the Equinox is one of the most popular compact SUVs from the brand. This year's model is a welcome evolution. It's almost a re-entry to the space with a lineup of nicely equipped and completely redone vehicles that does more than just look pretty.
The new 2025 Equinox is designed to bring the best of comfort, convenience, and reliability in a pretty package that starts at less than $30k.
After its 2003 debut at the Detroit Auto Show, Chevrolet delivered what would become a class mainstay for decades. Buyers loved the combination of easy pricing, long-term dependability, and abundant features in the Equinox. With three trims, generous rear space, nice fuel economy, smart cargo holds, and intuitive technology, it is no surprise that glow-up has been well received.

A Well-Deserved Upgrade
In a full class with the Hyundai Tucson, Nissan Rogue, Mazda CX-50, Honda CR-V, and Kia Sportage, the 2025 Chevy Equinox holds its space as an American champion. We loved this model's new design. It leads with strong lines that are notably rugged and modern. In fact, it takes heavy inspiration from the familiar looks of its Chevy Truck cousins with signature lighting, body styling and muscular stances. The Equinox also arrives with healthy fuel economy (26/28 mpg city/highway), a peppy engine, and three trims inspired by urban and active lifestyles.
The 2025 Equinox builds on its glow-up as a go-to within the not-quite-compact SUV space. Drivers will also appreciate the gorgeous new infotainment system, the streamlining of the driver assistance and safety suite, as well as the ability to connect to either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Powered by a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with an 8-speed automatic, the Equinox gives buyers options to fit their lifestyle and usage needs.
We loved the RS for its fresh, modern styling with a sport-inspired look, but buyers can choose between the LT and the Activ. Each comes with exclusive styling, colors, and neat detailing like a dual-colored roof and special textiles on the interior. The 2025 Equinox brings enough pep for your daily commute with an easy 175-horsepower rating and the gumption to handle the everyday grind.
Three Smart Trims
The base LT comes equipped with heated front seats, a 11.3-inch infotainment system paired with a 11-inch driver information console, a refined interior with charging ports, and a convenient pass-through center console that makes a place for everything. The next trim up is the RS, which starts at $33,000. It comes equipped with bolder, more vibrant styling that includes a flat-bottom steering wheel, larger wheels, leatherette seating and blacked out badging. Rounding out the gas-powered lineup is the Activ, which also starts at $33,000. It comes packaged nicely with a life-proof Evotex synthetic fiber seating, 17-inch machined wheels, all-terrrain tires and a two tone white roof.
Preparing for Life, Now and Tomorrow
Smart, good looks, a nice sound system, easy connectivity, and flexible seating make for the Equinox an enticing offer. It's also an offer that should age well and provide comfort for years to come. Better able to tangle with its class competitors, the Toyota RAV4 and the Honda CR-V, the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox delivers a more satisfying drive aimed at comfort and convenience rather than power and applied torque. As you move through the trim lines, you'll find more features like all-terrain tires, sueded microfiber seating and bolder emblems, moldings and badging. There is also a better space layout in the vehicle that makes for comfort and ease for all the passengers. There is also an electrified option, that comes in at less than $42k with over 300 miles of range, making it a real-life viable option, that looks almost identical to the gas version, except for the distinctive flat EV-grille.
Delivering on the brand promise of a reliable option that looks as good as it functions, the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox comes well-equipped with all the features compact crossover SUV buyers want in a new vehicle.
