Heartland, a 2,000-acre master planned community located 20 minutes east of Dallas on I-20, will now be managed by Huffines Communities.
Heartland is owned by HW Heartland, LP, a partnership controlled by a real estate investment fund based in Florida, and has a population of about 3,575 residents and includes homes priced from $130,000s to $250,000s. It is located 10 miles east of I-635/LBJ Freeway, on I-20 at FM 741 near Forney, Texas. The community currently consists of a 1,100-home, pedestrian-friendly neighborhood which includes 400 acres of parks, picnic areas and biking trails, a community pool and multiple sports facilities.

Huffines expects to spend 60-to-90 days evaluating Heartland’s opportunities and setting priorities for the next phase of development. Huffines’ plans will enhance the numerous amenities currently enjoyed by Heartland residents while considering additional features that will contribute to the community’s appeal.
Huffines will also make decisions about future styles of homes and the sizes and configurations of lots, as well as new builders to bring into the community.
