It was with great pleasure that Bishop Lynch High School welcomed Texas State Representative Mr. Eric Johnson to campus on Monday, November 17. Mr. Johnson was guided on a tour around the school, and enjoyed lunch with the BL Mock Trial team. The group shared their experience of their recent journey to the Empire Mock Trial tournament in New York City – where senior Corbin Neumann was awarded “Top Attorney,” out of 250 participants.

Johnson, a Dallas native raised in District 100, has a strong record of giving back to his community. He shared with the students that his introduction into politics came in high school when he completed his community service project volunteering in the same District office that he currently serves today!

Johnson later visited with Dr. John Parnell’s US History and Mr. Stuart Kantor’s Media Literacy classes. Here, he led an interactive question and answer session with the students, discussing the powerful impact the media plays in today’s world – especially in time of an election. The BL students were eagerly engaged and enjoyed the opportunity to hear Johnson’s experiences first-hand.

Bishop Lynch High School extends a tremendous thank you to Mr. Eric Johnson for his visit and to School Board Member Mr. David Neumann for arranging the wonderful opportunity!
