The MetroTex Association of REALTORS® today released Mesquite homes sales figures for the month of May. MetroTex President Steve Habgood announced Meaquite’s near-record volume of sales.

“The market in Mesquite is extremely active,” said Habgood. “While overall the number of available homes is low on any given day, homes that do appear on market tend to sell very quickly. There were 133 sales and 183 pending sales in Mesquite last month.“

“We definitely recommend consumers develop a good relationship with their REALTOR® to help them navigate such an active market like Mesquite is experiencing,” said Habgood.

Other highlights include of the MetroTex report include:

• The average sales price in Mesquite is $125,812, an increase of 7.4% over last year.
• Average sales price is 99% of list price when listed with a REALTOR®
• The number of available homes on the market in May 2015 was 125, compared to 170 in May 2014.
• The average price per square foot in Mesquite increased from $68 in May 2014 to $75 in May 2015. 

“We predict Mesquite will continue to be part of one of the most active markets in the country,” said Habgood. “In Mesquite, homes listed with REALTORS® are selling within 25 days on average.
