Mesquite’s Chamber of Commerce is producing a Candidates’ Forum for candidates vying for City Council posts in the Saturday, May 7 Municipal Election.

The forum is set for 6:00 (until about 8:00) p.m. on Tuesday, April 19 at Eastfield College in the Science Building (Room 101) on the eastern side of the campus.

“We’re grateful for the partnership with Eastfield to host this event for us,” says Marshall Hervey, 2016 Mesquite Chamber Chairman of the Board.  “We also appreciate the partnership with MISD former and present employees, as well as former City employees, who have also promoted the event to their members.”

The Chamber’s Candidates’ Forum is free and open to the public.  All three races (Places 3, 4, and 5) are contested this year.  Incumbent Bruce Archer is running against challenger Nathan Bosley.  Longtime City Councilwoman Shirley Roberts is not running again, leaving challengers Dan Aleman, Akram Mutawe and Cesar Villa vying for the place 4 seat.  Yolanda Shepard is running against the incumbent Councilman Greg Noschese for the place 5 post.

The event is sponsored by longtime Chamber Member Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr PC.
